Dr Olu Agunloye

1988 - 1994

The founding Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Olu Agunloye established the foundation for road safety in Nigeria. His visionary leadership saw the birth of FRSC and the implementation of fundamental road safety policies that continue to save lives today.

Maj. Gen Haldu Anthony Hananiya, mni (rtd)

1994 - 1999 (First Term)

During his first tenure, Maj. Gen Hananiya expanded FRSC operations nationwide and strengthened enforcement mechanisms. His military background brought discipline and structure to the organization.

Danyaro Ali Yakasai

1999 - 2000

Though brief, Yakasai's tenure focused on modernizing FRSC operations and improving stakeholder engagement during Nigeria's transition to democratic governance.

Engr. Abba Kyari Wakilbe, OON, FNSE

2000 - 2003

An engineering approach to road safety characterized Wakilbe's leadership. He introduced technical innovations and data-driven strategies to enhance FRSC operations.

Maj. Gen Haldu Anthony Hananiya, mni (rtd)

2003 - 2007 (Second Term)

Returning for a second term, Maj. Gen Hananiya consolidated previous gains and introduced new strategic initiatives. His experience brought stability and continuity to FRSC operations.

Osita Chidoka, OFR, NPoM

2007 - 2014

Chidoka's transformative leadership saw the introduction of the new number plate system, enhanced driver's license, and significant technological advancement in FRSC operations.

Dr Boboye O Oyeyemi, MFR, mni, NPoM, FCIPM, FNIM, FCIA, FCILT, FCITA

2014 - 2022

With the longest tenure as Corps Marshal, Dr Oyeyemi modernized FRSC operations, introduced digital platforms, and significantly reduced road traffic crashes through strategic initiatives and international partnerships.

Dauda Ali Biu, FCNA, CPA, NPoM

2022 - 2024

Building on the foundation of his predecessors, Biu focused on enhancing FRSC's operational efficiency, strengthening partnerships, and advancing the digital transformation agenda for improved road safety management.
