KUMUYI LAUDS FRSC ON WARSO INITIATIVES

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Church Worldwide,  Pastor (Dr) William Kumuyi has commended the giant strides being taken by the Federal Road Safety Corps in achieving a uniform motor vehicle registration scheme in the West African sub-region as President of the West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO).

Speaking during a courtesy visit at the National Headquarters of the FRSC in Abuja, Dr. Kumuyi noted with delight that numerous initiatives at the West African  Road Safety Organisation will no doubt, ensure the establishment of a common template by member countries such as Togo, Ghana and Benin Republic to share goals and vision with Nigeria for improved service delivery on road traffic administration and management on West African highways.

Similarly, the Deeper Life Church General Superintendent urged Nigerian road users to disabuse their minds of the notion that some supernatural forces contribute to frequent road crashes during the Ember seasons, stating that this unpleasant trend can be attributed to poor driving culture among Nigerian motorists who are often impatient to obey existing traffic rules and regulations.

Dr. Kumuyi who also commended the Federal Road Safety Corps for the noticeable sanity on the nation’s highways, urged the Corps’ management to remain steadfast in pursuant of its statutory mandate of ensuring safer road use in Nigeria.

Responding, the FRSC Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Osita Chidoka described Dr. Kumuyi as a distinguished clergy man whose virtues and sound morals have provided effective transformation of many Nigerians through his Christian teachings and sought a partnership with the Deeper Life Church on a “Safer Road Church” safety awareness campaign  as part of measures to engender sound safety doctrine among Christian faithful in Nigeria.

Furthermore, the Corps Marshal also disclosed plans to extend Road Safety Club membership to Sunday School Department of the Deeper Life Church in order to impart safety consciousness among school children and youths adding that aside from improving on tracking of FRSC operational vehicles to 600 tracking devices this year, 60 additional Unit Commands will be established to close existing gap between its Command formations for effective routine patrols and rescue activities. He also said that 200 additional Virtual Satellite installations will be undertaken to ensure real time communication interchange among the FRSC formations  across the country.
