FRSC RESCUED 5 INJURED CRASH VICTIMS CHIKARA
Officers and men of RS7.12 Abaji Unit Command rescued five (5) victims of road traffic crash at Chikara Village along Abuja–Lokoja highway. The incident occurred when an 18 seater bus lost control and ran into a Mazda car. The victims were taken to Abaji General Hospital for recuperation.
FRSC EMBARK ON FREE VEHICLE SAFETY CHECK NATION WIDE
2. In pursuit of the Corps Public Relation Programme, Operations Department has compiled the outcome of First Quarter, 2010 Free Vehicle Safety Check nation wide. The exercise is aimed at checking the state of vehicles on the highways and offenders are issued with free ticket to enable them fix any defects. A total of 13,927 vehicles where checked for the 1st quarter of 2010 out of which 14,784 offences were detected. Base on the total vehicle checked nationwide, classes of defect were observed as follows:

RS5.3 Anambra State Sector Command had the highest total performance of vehicle checked with the figure of (1,252), while RS1.3 Katsina Command recorded the lowest of seventeen (17). Also RS5.3 Anambra Sector recorded the highest offences while RS1.3 Katsina and RS10.2 Sokoto had the lowest.
A PATROL TEAM OF RS1.2 KANO SECTOR COMMAND ATTACKED WHILE EMBARKING ON FREE VEHICLE CHECK
3. A patrol team comprising of FT Olowu (ARC), AD Garba (SRM), K Oladipo (RMI) and Falani (RMAIII) were attacked by motorist while embarking on a free vehicle check at Dangi Round About, Kano. A group of youth took the laws into their hands by assaulting the team members, thereby leaving them with injuries. The matter is being investigated by the Police.

4. The present office complex occupied by RS11.14 Ikirun Unit Command, located along Eko-Ede road has been donated to the Corps by Kabiyesi, Oba Olayiwola Olawole Adedeji II of Ikirun land. This donation was conveyed in a letter dated 21 Apr 10, addressed to the Unit Commander RS11.14 Ikirun Unit Command. The Monarch of Ikirun community has been supportive to the Corps since the inception of the IPC Ikirun Workstation.
DONATION OF TWO (2), 20 FEET DANGOTE PORTLAND CEMENT BRANDED CONTAINERS TO FRSC ZARIAGI UNIT COMMAND
5. Obajana Cement Plc has donated two (2), 20 feet Dangote Portland Cement Branded containers to Zariagi Unit Command to be used as an additional office and store for recovered crash victims properties. The containers have already been received by the Command and a letter of appreciation sent to the company, by the Corps.
LAGOS ISLAND UNIT COMMAND MADE A MARK ON THE ISLAND
6. The Lagos Island Unit Command has made a mark on the Island through its weekly special patrol which lasted from 21 Apr – 4 Jun 10. The emphasis of the patrol was overspeeding, and at the end, a total of fifty three (53) offenders were apprehended. The operation equally resulted to improved compliance to safety helmet usage.
HAWAN KIBO UNIT COMMAND EVACUATED CORPSES IN TAHOSS VILLAGE
7. The spillover of the Jos crises to Tahoss Village near Hawan Kibo on the 21 May 10, left a lot of corpses and vehicles scattered all over the village. Officers and men of Hawan Kibo Unit Command alongside other members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) participated in the evacuation of the corpses and recovery of abandoned vehicles in the village.
IKARE UNIT COMMAND ORGANIZED JOINT TASK FORCE PATROL
8. RS11.23 Ikare Unit Command has organized a Joint Task Force patrol with the Ondo State Government for the enforcement of National Drivers Licence (NDL) and the Number Plate (NPV) compliance. At the end of the operation, several offenders were arrested.
