CORPS MARSHAL DECORATES EMIR OF KANO

In line with the resolve of its Management to utilize traditional Institutions as effective vehicle towards ensuring sanity on the nation’s highways, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr. Osita Chidoka has formally decorated the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero as Honorary member and patron of the Special Marshals Unit of the Commission.

Speaking during a courtesy visit on the eminent Northern traditional leader, the Corps Marshal identified traditional rulers as custodians of customs and sound moral conduct and provides a suitable platform to further inject order and transformation in the traffic conduct of the Nigerian motoring public.
He expressed his worry over the level of disregard for traffic rules on our roads
The Corps Marshal solicited the support of the Emir in imparting safety consciousness among Nigerian motorists especially Kano State indigenes.
In his response, the Royal father commended the FRSC Management in Nigerian and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him as a special marshal.
However, the Emir further charged, the Commission to redouble efforts in discharging its statutory mandate and urged Nigerian road users to imbibe safety norms in order to stem the tide of road carnage across the Country.
In a related development, the Corps marshal also conferred on the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris honorary member of the Special Marshals Unit of the FRSC.
Responding, the Emir stated the need for sustainable strategies to be put in place to cope with emerging Country and assured the Corps Marshal of his willingness to project safety consciousness in him domain.
