As a first step towards computerised and database driven operations, the Federal Road Safety Commission is introducing the automated payroll system for its staff.
This development is in line with the vision of the present FRSC leadership to keep the
Commission abreast of evloving trends in global technological advancement.
For the effective take off of the new payroll system, a two-day workshop on the application of the automated payroll technology, was organized for the Zonal Heads of Administration and supply, as well as Zonal Accountants from the twelve Zones of the Commission.
Welcoming the participants, Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Osita Chidoka stressed that as Nigeria forges ahead with the rest of the world in technological advancement, FRSC cannot afford to be left behind, hence the automated payroll system becomes necessary as a first step towards computerized and database administration and operation.
According to him, every aspect of the Commission's activities will soon be automated to facilitate efficiency in the Commission. It is therefore in the best interest of all staff to get computer literate, to avoid redundancy and possible exit from the job.
The automated payroll workshop was done with the United Bank for Africa as facilitator.
