2012 NATIONWIDE CERTIFICATION OF TRANSPORT FLEET OPERATORS

This is to inform the stake-holders in Road Safety and the general public on Federal Road Safety Corps year 2012 certification of Transport Fleet Operators under the Road Transport Safety standardization scheme which commences on January, 23rd, 2012

This scheme was launched by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 11th of September, 2007. The concept of the scheme is to regulate standardized, check excesses of transport operators & entrench a culture of safety in all operators.

The scheme includes Registration, Establishment of Safety Units and appointment of safety managers, penalty for violation, certification exercise, certification requirements, inspection exercise and issuance of certificate.

Based on the inspection assessments, certificates would be presented to qualified operators, specifying classes of certification on a date to be announced in due course.
