IMMIGRATIONS TO PARTNER WITH FRSC TO CHECK ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Impressed by the level of application of digital process by the Federal Road Safety Corps in the nation’s road traffic administration and safety management, the Comptroller Nigerian Immigrations Service, Mrs Rose Uzoma has indicated the willingness of the Nigerian Immigrations to leverage on the FRSC achievement in Information and Communication Technology to combat the menace of illegal immigrants in Nigeria.
According to the newly appointed Immigration boss, the Corps’ digitalized platform for tracking vehicles be of immense benefit to Nigerian Immigrations in its drive to curb the activities of illegal immigrants who operate with vehicles across the country.
Similarly, Mrs. Uzoma stated that the Immigrations Service has extended its frontiers on e-administration through on-line registration of all Africans which will no doubt, provide a reliable data base for effective planning and futuristic projections within the African continent.
In a related development, the Commandant of the National Defense College, Rear Admiral Thomas Lokoson has commended the corporate partnership which has existed between the FRSC and the Defense College in the area of capacity building.
Responding, the FRSC Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Osita Chidoka expressed the readiness of the Corps to arrange an extensive capacity building programme through seminar and workshops with the Defense College, to incorporate other government agencies to engender cross fertilization of ideas and innovations to propel national growth.
The Corps Marshal also re-iterated the Federal Road Safety Corps’ reliance on people, process and technology as effective tools towards an enduring legacy on road traffic administration and safety management in Nigeria
