Hon. Waziri was born on 22nd July 1952 and is a native of Yauri in Kebbi State. Hon. Zailani holds the traditional title of Wazirin Yauri, a graduate in Accountancy with specialty in Cost and Management Accounting from the Bournemouth College of Technology in England. Hon. Waziri also holds part I & II of the Renowned Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) London and Post Graduate Certificate on budget and management from Harvard University (USA). Her served the National Youth Service Scheme between 1977 and 1978 at the Cross Rivers State Agric Development Corporation.
Hon. Zailani was a member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development between 1999 and 2003. He was the PDP Senatorial candidate in the 2003 general election representing Kebbi South. Before venturing into Politics, Hon. Zailani served in various capacities. He was an Assistant General Manager at Rims Merchant Bank, a Deputy Corporate Planner with the NNDC in Kaduna, a Deputy Budget Controller at Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited and the First Commissioner for Finance in Kebbi State.
HON. ZAILANI MOHAMMED WAZIRI is currently the Special Adviser (Admin/Political) to the Honourable Minister of Sports. He is married with children.
