POOR COMPLIANCE WITH HELMET ORDER IN NORTH — CHIDOKA

One year after the crash helmet order for motorcyclists, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Mr Osita Chidoka has said that motorcyclists in the northern states were yet to implement it.

He said lack of publicity made usage of helmets in the region difficult and the FRSC would solicit the help of emirs and the media to educate the people.
He said plans had reached an advanced stage to ensure full compliance with the order.

Mr Chidoka who led a delegation of officers to Minna yesterday to condole former Military President Ibrahim Babangida over the death of his wife, Maryam, described the deceased as a philanthropist and mother of all.

Responding, General Babangida thanked Chidoka for the visit and urged him to continue the good work of ridding Nigerian roads of accidents.
