FRSC’s ASSISTANT CORPS MARSHAL (OPERATIONS) GOES TO HARVARD The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has nominated Assistant Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi to attend a one week Executive Course on Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. The nomination was fallout of implementation of the first annual assessment of Departments, Corps Offices and Zonal Commands. The assessment was based on a management approved criteria that included timely rendition of reports, accomplishment of job schedules, projects completed, team work among others. The Operations Department headed by ACM Boboye Oyeyemi came first in the assessment leading to his nomination for the course. Shedding more lights on the program which is expected to boost the image of the Corps and enhance its operational profile, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of FRSC, Osita Chidoka said, “The choice of the Assistant Corps Marshal, Operations (ACM-Operations) for the course was informed by the brilliant performances put up by the operations department in successive departmental rating exercises carried both on quarterly and yearly basis, in which it came on top”. “It is a further demonstration of the knowledge-driven policy of the present management, reward for hard work and above all, a boost to our staff capacity building initiative. Let me restate that we will not relent in our efforts to create opportunities for staff to acquire the necessary knowledge for building a Corps that is anchored on sound technical knowhow”, he further emphasized. Conveying acceptance of the Executive Education Admissions Committee of the School to him, the Program Director, Christie McQueen said: “We congratulate you on your acceptance to Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies. Along with a diverse and accomplished group of peers, you will be immersed in the challenging and stimulating learning experience”. Expressing his appreciation to the management and particularly, the Corps Marshal for the opportunity given to him to participate in the course, ACM Oyeyemi promised “to put the knowledge into practice, to improve on the operational system of the Corps and enhance its present focus”. “I am really excited about the course. I wish to thank the management for the opportunity and hope to utilize the knowledge in improving our operational system towards the Corps’ focus of improving its service delivery in the year 2010”, he added.
