FRSC RECOVERS TWO MILLION NAIRA

A Federal Road Safety Corps patrol team from the Ondo Unit Command, Ondo State has returned the sum of two million naira cash recovered from a victim of armed robbery attack, Kunle Makinwa, along the Ore highway.

According to the Corps, the patrol team was operating along the Ondo-Ore route when a Nissan Primera vehicle was driven to their point of patrol by a driver who escaped from an armed robbery attack with serious injuries.

Further reports indicate that the injured driver handed over a bag containing the sum of N2 million cash to the FRSC operatives who subsequently rushed him to a hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the FRSC contacted the driver’s boss, Mr. Franklin Aladenika and the Enuowa Police station where it was confirmed that a Police officer had earlier been attacked by the same armed robbery gang.

After proper identification and evidence of withdrawal of the same amount, the recovered money was handed over to Mr. Aladenika even as the injured driver has been treated and discharged from the hospital.

In a related development, a Senior Magistrate Court at Ogbomoso has sentenced one Ajadi Amusa to six months imprisonment with hard labour or an optional fine of N10,000.00 for obstructing an FRSC patrol team from discharging their statutory functions.

The defaulter who was in the company of others now at large, reportedly disrupted operational activities of the Federal Road Safety Corps during a special patrol for motorcycle operators at Ogbomoso before being arrested by the Police and charged accordingly for civil disturbance.
