JUDGE’S DRIVER DIES IN AUTO CRASH

A Peugeot 406 car carrying Justice AM Lambo of the Sokoto Judiciary was on Monday afternoon 27 th April involved in an accident at Abaji. The Judge’s driver died in the accident, while Lamido and his orderly were injured.

According to information made available by the Federal Road Safety Commission, Abaji Unit Comand, the driver of the judge, Mallam Kassim Mohammed died instantly.

An eye witness said the Judge’s driver lost control while overtaking and rammed into a water tanker that belongs to Government Secondary School, Abaji.

He said the water tanker was trying to divert into a path leading to a river bank to fetch water when the car hit it.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) from the Abaji Unit Command rushed to the scene to convey the corpse to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital’s morgue, while the injured chief judge and his orderly were rushed to the Abaji General Hospital to medical attention.

Commenting on the incident, the Abaji Unit Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Joseph Ojerinde (CRC), blamed the late Judge’s driver for overtaking dangerously near a bridge.
