FRSC POSTPONES CANADA WORKSHOP ON TRANSPORT

Management of the Federal Road Safety Commission has postponed an earlier scheduled six-day International working tour and workshop on road transportation, in collaboration with the Canadian Ministry of Transport.

According to the FRSC, the postponement is necessitated by issuance of visa by the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria to only 8 participants out of other applicants drawn from the private and public sector, including some states across the country.

Feelers from the Federal Road Safety Commission further indicate that some of the applicants could not meet requirements for issuance of visa but with the intervention of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are strong indications that visa will be issued to intending participants at the workshop.

Consequently, FRSC has dispatched letters to all state Governors and participating Agencies informing them of the postponement in order to obtain visa from the Canadian Embassy.

It will be recalled that the workshop is an initiative of the Federal Road Safety Commission as the lead Agency in road traffic administration in Nigeria to improve the capacity of all stakeholders on global trends in road traffic management and motor vehicle administration.
